FAQ

IMPORTANT SHIPPING INFORMATION

This information is EXTREMELY important

I cannot be responsible for items once placed in transit. I can ship items sent internationally using 1 of many options and prices and the RISK falls on you, the buyer. I assume risk of a paid item up until the moment it exhanges hands at my local Postal Delivery service. The moment it leaves my hands the package is your risk and responsibility. I am shipping on your behalf, not mine.

If you choose to use the cheapest option of shipping for normal 4-10day delivery by air then this option does NOT provide delivery confirmation, signature, or insurance to you. in effect you are taking on all risk and loss of your item. This delivery service is ONLY AVAILABLE for ITEMS OF VALUE $250NZD or less.

if you have a more expensive item, or you want full tracking, insurance and reliability of the item not being stolen or lost then you MUST request economy or priority courier.

I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY ONCE I PASS THE ITEM ON.

Thanks.

What is a FAQ?
Something I'll get around to eventually.

What is cKc?
custom Kyley cutlery, a name coined by a friend that I took on as a stand alone "cKc" because the name itself sucks, but cKc is good.

What does cKc do?
Design and build superior cutting tools

What is K.I.S.S?
A Superior design philosophy that I rigorously adhere to, which explains the short size of this FAQ.

What Should you expect from a cKc Knife?
Do not expect a perfectly finished flaw and defect free Knife. I put my time, energy and focus into designing what I feel are superior functioning knives that work and feel good. This is an important and costly part of making a good knife. I focus on using the highest quality sourced steels from a single reputable supplier and Heat-Treater that gets world-leading quality, and results every single time. I get the best materials I can to make the knife from. a cKc Tool is not a piece of Art. It is not a Safe-Queen to admire on a rainy day. cKc is the rough-looking hard working labourer ready to be at your side in any situation. You wont fear scratching your fine finish, because there isn't one. You wont hesitate using it for fear of marring your fine art; Its not art.

I hand shape and grind everything by eye. It will not be perfect, it will not be exactly symmetrical all the time. but they will work and perform with the best out there.

You should expect a cKc Knife to work, and look as rough when you get it, as it will after years of hard honest work. cKc is about giving the best knife I can give you without wasting my time, or your money on frivolous finishing and cosmetic attributes.

There are many collectors and makers out there who will try and convince you that a knife not perfectly finished is probably not a good knife and most likely reflects poor workmanship. I am here to prove that wrong. In my opinion those costmetic finishes are something to be admired as long as you are willing to pay for it. In a hand-made knife a $5 polish in a factory can be a $100 polish by hand.

A Diamond in the Rough is still a diamond, and you can polish it if you want. Polished glass no matter how spectacular is still just polished glass no matter who they wish to deceive.
