What is Defense Against Wild?

There are many knives and tools and gizmos for sale these days. Many of them offer a tactical spin on life which typically when broken down into logical thought actually offers nothing more than senseless ramblings rather than a logical explanable thought.

Many products sell themselves as the perfect product, the ideal tool for the job. There is no such thing. I dont make Tactical Knives and I never will. Why? Because there is no such thing as a tactical knife. Its a grand misuse of a word to create an association between the knife industry and the military/fantasy role play world.

so you might ask.. "Defense against Wild"?

Defense against Wild is a term created and coined by me. Never Existed Before

I Personally live in an environment where a knife is and must be considered a tool of trade or utility and nothing more. To even remotely consider, or suggest that a knife or any other tool may be carried for the purposes of self-defense immediately makes the knife/tool fall under the offensive weapons act.

I dont believe my country is alone in this type of sentiment where the victims right to defense and pre-thought is outlawed.

As Such, and following my own beliefs I build knives that are typically for outdoor use, and never for self-defense against other people..

This strikes a certain dilemma on how to convey that a knife is good, or capable of a certain style of tasks that elevate a user from victom to victor.

And so I came up with the styled "Defense against Wild" terminology. This basically means that the knife or tool which I state as being suitable for defense against wild has attributes that lend it self well towards the task of dispatching wildlife. Hunting is a long tradition of humans, and we have far better means than knives to do it. Sometimes we must realise that we too can be the hunted, and that Wild is all around us. DAW knives are good at killing. Some are specifically for dispatching.. some are capable of the task.

What you consider Wild is up to you.. Wild Pig? Wild Deer? Wild Lunatics.. We use the term Wildlife all the time and denote a certain level of risk to that wild life.. Its a shame that in modern society we are surrounded by wildlife with the capacity to enter our homes, and workplaces and attack and betray us in the guise of civillised people.

I do not promote or make knives for the use of attacking or hurting people.. But knives designed to dispatch Wild-Life are the reason we exist and survive today.

If you work in a situation that puts you in harms way, such as police and military, then you will want a blade that is suitable for "Defense against Wild"
